This one’s a perfect example of the saying: “If you have mold anywhere, you have it everywhere.”
This Brentwood home—one of the largest we’ve ever worked in—had a flooded basement after all the heavy rain this spring. The floors were soaked, drywall was stained, and the moisture had spread far beyond the basement.
We ran a mold test and, sure enough, the levels were sky-high. Even worse, it showed Stachybotrys—aka toxic black mold.
The issue was so severe that contractors couldn’t even come in to start repairs safely. On top of that, the home is filled with high-end art that was at risk of being damaged by the mold.
So we moved fast. We treated all 14,000 square feet of the home right away to bring mold levels down so it was safe to begin restoration. Then, once the contractors removed the damaged floors and walls and improved drainage outside, we returned to do a second full-home treatment—this time to wipe out any spores that might’ve clung to damp surfaces.
Today, mold levels are back to safe, outdoor norms, and the owners (and their grandkids) are back to enjoying the home—healthy, safe, and mold-free.
